Laura Pasquetti - Scuola MangiaparoleCiao! I am Laura. I was born and raised in Rome, where I graduated in Anthropology from the University of Rome “La Sapienza.”

Right after, I got my license to teach as an instructor in driving schools for the Italian patente B. I worked in a driving school for 6 years, supporting students to study and pass the written exam to obtain the patente B. Currently, I teach the IDL – Italian for Driver’s License course designed by Mangiaparole to help foreigners residing in Italy study for the theory test. In addition, I give 1:1 and group classes online and in-person in Rome.

At the University of Rome “La Sapienza,” I completed a specialization course in Applied Anthropology for Developing Countries organized for students from all over the world and with only five Italian students participating. I took a course in International Cooperation at the Pontifical Lateran University in Rome, which allowed me to pursue an internship at FOCSIV (Federation of Christian-inspired International Voluntary Organizations). This experience allowed me to travel and get to know different cultures. That’s when I realized how much language barriers can be an obstacle when it comes to communicating and understanding others.

I lived in Cape Town where I attended educational and didactic projects. Upon returning to Rome, I obtained the DITALS certification (Certification of Competence in Teaching Italian to Foreigners), which enabled me to work in Italy and the United Kingdom. I am currently completing the TFA (Active Training Internship) specialization course at Link University in Rome to work as a support teacher in Secondary schools.

Teaching Italian means not only sharing my wonderful language but also my culture. Learning a language is magical because it allows to experience the world in a different way. It opens doors and broadens our horizons, appreciating other people traditions and customs. Are you ready to experience the magic with me?

My hobbies are reading, watching TV shows, and, as mentioned, traveling!

My favorite food is pizza! I could eat it for breakfast!
