Ciao a tutti! I am Valentina and I come from the Basilicata region. I have more than 10 years of experience teaching Italian – always with the same energy and enthusiasm. I teach Italian in-person and online with the priority of making students feel comfortable, allowing them to express themselves even if they make mistakes, and providing an enjoyable experience.
I graduated in Communication Sciences from the University of Bologna, Italy. I pursued the Ditals II diploma in teaching Italian as a foreign language from the University for Foreigners of Siena, Italy. Later, I earned a Master’s degree in Didactics from the University of Rome Tor Vergata. I am also an Examiner for the CELI (Certificato di Conoscenza della Lingua Italiana) and CILS (Certificazione di Italiano come Lingua Straniera) exams.
What I love about my job is the creative side. I enjoy researching and finding new and interesting teaching materials to capture my students’ attention. For this reason, during my lessons, I try to align with the students’ interests to offer engaging topics that motivate them to participate and speak in class. I believe that the most challenging aspect of learning a language is interaction.
Alongside the creative side, I also love the human aspect, which is equally important, and the opportunity to build trusting relationships with students.
I have worked in Italy and abroad and gained both educational and personal growth from these experiences.
In my free time, I like reading, taking photos, but above all, I enjoy being outdoors, hiking, and riding my bike, a faithful companion on many adventures!
I could never stop eating pizza: hot or cold, Neapolitan or Roman, in the evening or at any other time of the day; as long as it’s vegetarian! 🙂
