Insegnante di italiano

Hello, I’m Teresa, a qualified Italian teacher (L2/Ls). I was born in Crotone, a beautiful seaside town in Calabria, famous for its historical connection with Magna Graecia, one of the most important cultural and commercial centers in the Mediterranean—and for being the place where Pitagora, the philosopher and mathematician, lived. Growing up in a land rich in history and traditions inspired me to pass on Italy’s cultural and linguistic heritage to my students.

At the age of eighteen, I moved to Rome, a city I deeply love, where I earned a degree in Modern Foreign Languages and Cultures and obtained a second-level Master’s degree in Specialized Translation. I further expanded my skills by attending the advanced training course “Women, Politics, and Institutions” and the course “Refugees and Migrants” at the University of Rome “La Sapienza”. My passion for writing led me to further my expertise in proofreading, press office for publishing, copywriting and social media management.

I have extended experience in organizing and promoting events and worked for a prominent Roman tour operator—experiences that allowed me to discover every facet of Rome, transforming it into my adopted city. However, I felt the need to combine my love for Italian culture with my passion for teaching, and that’s why I specialized as an Italian teacher for foreigners. As of today, I have extensive experience with well known Italian language schools for foreigners; I also serve as an interviewer and PLIDA examiner, and I teach Italian to immigrants, guaranteeing a personalized and professional teaching approach.

I am naturally inclined to build genuine relationships and make my students feel comfortable, always ready to embrace new challenges and learn about cultures different from my own. I love making my lessons enjoyable and tailored to the needs and level of each student. I speak English and Spanish, having lived in Bristol and Valencia. I would love to learn other languages such as French and Arabic, with the dream of gradually speaking all the most spoken languages in the world!

I love fashion, reading, photography, cinema, and music. I also sing, even though I jokingly describe myself “as off-key as a bell” (meaning I recognize that I am not very skilled at singing!). If I would win the lottery, I would travel endlessly to discover new cultures and traditions. My favorite dessert is chocolate ice cream, and as a true Italian, I am a “good fork”, that is, I love food and truly appreciate good cuisine!

If you are looking for an Italian course to immerse yourself in the Italian language and culture, my lessons offer a unique opportunity to learn Italian in a dynamic and interactive way! Email: [email protected].
