Hello everyone: My name is Ana and I teach Spanish as a second language (ELE – Español como Lengua Extranjera). I was born in Valencia and have been living in Rome for the past 10 years. Even though I’ve lived in Italy for a long time, I’ve never lost my Spanishness: in my lessons I teach not only the language, but also share the richness of Spanish culture with great passion.
I graduated in Art History from the University of Valencia, where I also studied Archaeology. But how did I end up in Italy? Well, I’ve loved Ancient Rome and classical antiquity since I was a child: maybe it was Asterix and Obelix’s fault, or the Hercules movie… who knows!
I prepare students of all levels for the DELE exam (Diplomas de Español como Lengua Extranjera), the official certification issued by the Instituto Cervantes on behalf of the Spanish Ministry of Education. It is internationally recognized and can be useful for study, work, or immigration purposes. I train students from A1 to C1 levels using targeted materials and lots of mock exams, so they feel fully confident and well-prepared on test day.
To teach Spanish, I completed a teacher training course at the Instituto Cervantes in Rome, and I’ve been teaching ever since. Thanks to this job, I’ve gained a wide range of experiences: I’ve worked in many schools and companies, and taught Spanish to all kinds of people. But I haven’t worked only as a teacher: in 2018, I also worked as an interpreter for the Opera Nazionale Montessori, when a group of Spanish teachers came to take a course on integrating the Montessori method into their curriculum.
Some of my passions include cooking, football, art, Ancient Rome… but above all, Formula 1!
If I had to name my idols, without a doubt I’d say Julius Caesar and Fernando Alonso!
And my favorite dish? That’s easy: paella valenciana!
As for my favorite film: The Untouchables!
